I organize the events and conversations that connect Central PA's tech community — conferences, meetups, and the hallway conversations in between.
CPOSC
I serve on the board and as treasurer of the Central PA Open Source Conference. I work with sponsors and help bring the event together each year at the Ware Center in downtown Lancaster.
CPOSC 16 brought over 220 attendees from Lancaster, Harrisburg, and beyond for a day of talks and conversation. Read the recap.
TechLancaster
Active in TechLancaster — the local tech community. Regular meetups, Tech Coffee, and monthly talks. I recently gave a talk there, Walk Up Song — the recording is up.
Speaking
I speak at conferences, universities, and government innovation programs on AI adoption, technical decision-making, and building products.
Past
- —Tech Lancaster — Walk Up Song (May 2026)
- —Millersville AI Symposium (April 2026)
- —CPOSC 16 (March 2026)
- —Tech Lancaster — Mental Health Data at Work: Consent, Control, and the Rise of AI (August 2025)Okaya's mental health check-in, and the double standard underneath it: almost nobody in the room wanted to hand their own data to an AI, but everyone wanted their pilot's fatigue tracked before takeoff.
- —Tech Lancaster — Automated LLM Content Generation at Scale (April 2024)Turning state education standards into full e-learning courses with retrieval augmented generation and a chain of prompts — analyze, fan out, generate, enhance. The AI was micromanaged the whole way.
- —Tech Lancaster — Shilling My NFT for Fun and Profit (May 2022)Put the art and the coins aside and design a zero-trust distributed system for something small — a community meetup calendar nobody has to trust anyone to run. That thought experiment is where the blockchain actually gets interesting.
- —Harrisburg University guest lectures — Penn State / PA Governor's Office Innovation Program
